Life Sucks!

On top of everything else, I went skiing up at Snowstar today and my brand new Vokle tigershark skis got stolen! I went in to the bathroom, five minutes, I came out and they were gone. I hope whoever took them rots in hell!
My homeowner insurance should cover most of it, and I can replace them, but it's still the last thing I need right now.

virus going around

I've been sick all week, just about everyone at work has been sick at least a day, this is really some bug going around. You just never seem to get over it.
It's been a bad week at work, I had to report a major sewage spill due to an equipment failure to the EPA. I can't see how I can be blamed, we did the best we could. If you see me begging in the streets next year, tho, you'll know why.

I got to ski!

I got to go skiing friday, and it was fantastic. I took the day off work and went up to Chestnut Mountain at Galena. The day was clear and cold, perfect for skiing, and I had brand new skis, really hot expert level skis. I really shredded the hill, some of the best I've done in a long time, at least for a few hours. Then I took a nice fall on a black diamond slope, and slid for a couple of hundred feet on my back down the hill. That didn't really bother me, but when I went in afterwards to take a break, I slipped and fell hard on a patch of icy concrete in front of the skier service building. This still didn't stop me, I lasted a while longer, but it sure took some of the spring out of my step. I was totally sore the next day, I mean most of my body.
In the neverending saga of work, I lost one of my key people to a different department, now I have to train someone all over.
I don't know, I've already been approached for two other jobs just since spring, class one operators are sought after. Maybe I ought to look into some of the offers, but I really, really don't want to move to another city right now.

no ice yet tonight

So far the ice has held off, last night and so far tonight, but we're supposed to get it later. Great.
It looks like I'm going to get to go skiing this weekend, maybe up to Galena. Man I really need it. That's if I can ever get over to Peoria to pick my skis.
Things are still up and down at work, but maybe I'm learning not to let it get to me so bad,at least I hope so. We'll see. I AM going on vacation in February, no matter what.
Jim Sanderson got all of us in Inali membership in the Quad Cities American Indian Movement support group. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds good. AIM does a lot of good things, I'm glad to support them, even if I don't know how.
I've had a few problems with this site lately, I'll try to get on it more often.
