had a nice trip

I'll try to get back to posting more often, I had some computer problems, plus I had a cold.
My trip out to Colorado went fine. I spent the first weekend in Aspen, of all places. This was slow season, so I got a good rate on a nice little inn called the Mountain House Lodge. It was really a bed and breakfast, nothing fancy but very comfortable, a large room, with cable tv, a small refrigerator, and a corner view, with a small balcony (really a deck, it was the first floor). No air conditioning, but it's not really needed at 9000 feet.
Aspen is really a fun town to hang around in, not pretentious at all, at least not in summer (I understand it's a lot different in ski season), with great shops, restaurants, and bars, plus it's close to some of the most beautiful backcountry in the nation.
That saturday I took a bus up to the Maroon Bells wilderness and hiked to a small mountain lake called Crater Lake at the base of the bells. It was a hard, uphill, hour and a half hike, plus another hour and a half back, but it was worth it, the scenery was stunning. I got some great pictures, I may try to put some up on the blog.
Thats enough for now, I'll have a lot more to say, about the archaeological work I did plus other things, later.

computers can be a pain in the rear!

I know I haven't got anything up about my trip, I will get to it. I've had problems with my McAfee security for days, and after a couple of go arounds with their techs on the chat board, I finally had to take most of this evening to completely uninstall, download, and reinstall the whole package! Anyway, it seems to be working, so I can go back to using the computer for things I want to do.

I'M HOME!

Had a great trip, really needed it. Dug some dirt, moved a lot of rocks.
I'll talk about it later, but man, Fall found me in eastern Colorado and followed me home. It's cold!
