I PASSED!

I just learned that I passed my class 1 test. This could mean a lot more money. I'm really, really happy.

I'm not sure I like the new job

My job is really wearing me down, even after 3 days. I never seem to have time to do everything, I'm constantly running, and I wasn't adequately prepared by the former person. Plus the raise isn't what it should be yet. Maybe after I've been at it a while things will calm down, and I hope when I get word that I passed my classification test I'll get more money. I guess I'll just have to hang on a while.
I really just wanted to keep doing my old job until I retired.

job stress, but great weather

I got the supervisor job, but the pay raise wasn't what it should be, and it's a temporary promotion until I find out if I passed the test. So for now I have the responsibility without the pay or the knowledge of whether I will keep it. Oh well.
At least spring is finally here, I've been putting my cayenne pepper sprouts outside, they're going crazy, I'm going to have tons of peppers.
I can't wait till powwows start up, I really, really need one.

Hard test!

I took my class 1 test today in Springfield. It was even harder than I had thought it would be. I'm really glad I studied as hard as I did, I don't think I overstudied one bit. I won't get the results back for a couple of weeks, but I'm optimistic.

maybe this time it's spring

Finally the weather is warming up again, hopefully it'll stay this time. I was really tired of the cold. I've got chili pepper plants sprouting inside, I'd like to have a nice crop this year. If I put out okra like I plan, and tomatoes, I can make fresh, homemade gumbo.
The pressure at work is really getting to me, starting next monday three of our main people are retiring, we're not close to ready, and now the new boss wants to transfer the last two for the two months they have left. My new people aren't even close to trained, if these two go this soon things will be impossible at the plant. I have to make sure it doesn't happen. Hopefully the bosses will see reason, my old boss has told them it's a really horrible idea.

GEEKS RULE!

I know everyone is following the US prosecutor scandal, it's shaping up to be the next watergate, but what most people don't know is that it was broken open not by lawyers, or big time reporters, or politicians, but by bloggers.
The internet is where the action is now, more and more, and those of us who were computer nerds early on just love it. When we can influence national politics, it's not about bad haircuts and pocket protectors anymore.

SNOW POSSIBLE!

I can't believe it! They say it might snow tomorrow night. This is the weirdest year I think I can remember.
I still don't know for sure what's going to happen at work, but I do know that another person in much my situation at the water plant got a nice raise, though not fantastic.
Surely I'll get about the same. This whole thing is really getting me down. All I wanted to do was keep working.
One good thing, the mysterious "service engine" light on my car went out by itself. I still have no idea why it was on.
I really hope the Mothers Day powwow is a good one, I'm ready for one.

winters back

I can't believe this! It's supposed to get down below freezing every night for the rest of the week! Enough is enough, I'm ready for spring.
Now I've got a trouble light coming on in my car, I have no idea what for. The last time I took it in for what I thought would be something simple, it cost over 900 dollars.
Still have no idea if I'm getting a raise, even a few thousand a year would be nice. The city really is dragging their feet over this whole early retirement thing.
I felt really good about the prison powwow, they really make us feel welcome now. One of the guys shared his family song with us! That is quite an honor.
